What Pathways does not provide
Pathways does not provide emergency services, inpatient treatment, formal clinical diagnosis, or formal substance-use assessment. When assessment or treatment is needed, Pathways helps connect participants with qualified providers.

Family members and friends can contact Pathways to learn how the program works and how to encourage someone to take the next step. Pathways may be limited in what it can share about a participant without that person’s permission, but the team can still explain general program information and possible ways to help.

Pathways began as a way to help eligible people move forward through accountability, support, and connection to services. For some participants, Pathways may be connected to a diversion or court-related agreement. For others, the first step may be a community referral, family referral, or self-referral.
Participation requirements, confidentiality rules, and information-sharing rules may differ depending on the referral source and program track. Pathways staff will explain what applies before moving forward.

Where Pathways began
Report roadside litter: (540) 254-7826Pathways began as the Augusta County Litter Control Program, offering eligible first-time, non-violent offenders a chance to move forward while giving back to the community. Established in 2018, the program continues to benefit both the County and its citizens.
